Entire 2018 Field Hockey Team Named to BIG EAST All-Academic Team

NEW YORK - All 23 student-athletes on the 2018 Temple field hockey team earned 2018-19 BIG EAST All-Academic Team honors, as announced by the league on Tuesday. Nearly 3,000 student-athletes earned the honor in total, from the BIG EAST's 10 member schools and affiliate institutions.

To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must have competed in a BIG EAST-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.

The nominations are reviewed and approved by the BIG EAST Academic Affairs Committee.

The individual honors for Temple come on the heels of the team earning the BIG EAST's Team Academic Excellence Award for having the highest cumulative GPA (3.52) of all six teams in the conference.
