Men’s Basketball Looks to Split Series with Tulane Wednesday

NEW ORLEANS – Temple Men's Basketball will look to even the score with Tulane Wednesday (8 pm ET/ESPN3/1210 AM WPHT) when the Owls (12-11, 4-7 AAC) travel to Devlin Fieldhouse to take on the Green Wave.   Tulane (10-13, 2-9 AAC) has lost seven straight games with its last win coming at the Liacouras Center against Temple on Jan. 11.

SCOUTING TEMPLE
> Temple, under the direction of first-year head coach Aaron McKie, sports a balanced attack with two players averaging double figures and another five averaging 6.1 points or more.
> Senior guard Quinton Rose leads Temple (2nd AAC) in scoring (15.9 ppg) and assists (3.7 apg/9th AAC) while ranking second in steals (2.0 spg/5th AAC).  Rose, who became the AAC's all-time leading scorer in the team's win over SMU (1,718 points), is the only players to rank in the Top 10 in the conference in these categories. 
> Junior guard Nate Pierre-Louis leads Temple in rebounding (7.9 rpg/5th AAC) and steals (2.1/ 3rd AAC), while ranking second in scoring (11.4 ppg) and assists (3.0 apg).
 > Senior Alani Moore II (8.8 ppg) has doubled his offensive output from last year (4.1 ppg) and is tied for second in the AAC in threes per game (2.3) and sixth in three-point percentage (.408).
> Rounding out the normal starting five are sophomore Jake Forrester (8.5 ppg/4.4 rpg) and junior J.P. Moorman II (6.1 ppg), who ranks second on the team in rebounding (5.4 rpg). 
> Junior De'Vondre Perry (6.4 ppg), who ranks second in the AAC in three-point percentage (.426), redshirt junior Monty Scott (6.1 ppg) and freshman Josh Pierre-Louis (4.5 ppg) have provided the most impact from the Owls' deep bench.  Scott had a season high 22 points in the SMU win while Perry and Moorman both missed the contest due to injury.

SCOUTING TULANE
> The Green Wave, under the direction of first-year coach Ron Hunter, has three players averaging double figures with junior Teshaun Hightower leading the team (15.0 ppg) and ranking fifth in the conference in scoring.
> Junior K.J. Lawson is tied for 10th in the conference in scoring (14.0 ppg) while senior Christion Thompson averages 12.9 ppg.  Thompson also tops the squad in rebounds (6.2 rpg) and steals (2.1 spg).
> The Green Wave lead the conference in 3-point field goal percentage (.349), fewest turnovers per game (11.7) and turnover margin (+4.5).
> Tulane is 6-4 at home this season, but just 1-4 in conference play at Devlin Fieldhouse.
 
SERIES HISTORY
> This is the 14th meeting between the teams with Temple holding a 10-4 advantage.
> The Owls have won nine of the last 11 meetings, but the Green Wave snapped a three-game losing streak to Temple with a 65-51 win at the Liacouras Center on Jan. 11.
> Temple has won the last five meetings in New Orleans and is 5-2 overall on the road against Tulane.
