Women's Basketball Returns Home To Play St. John's Wednesday Night

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's basketball team takes on the St. John's Red Storm on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7:00pm back home in McGonigle Hall.  The game is scheduled to air on ESPN+.

Fans are required to wear masks unless actively eating or drinking. 

LAST WEEK
> In the opening week of the season, the Owls faced off against the Saint Francis (PA) Red Flash and the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles.
> After opening the season with a 73-53 win over Saint Francis, the Cherry & White fell to the Eagles last Friday night to split the week.
> Graduate transfer Jiselle Thomas enjoyed a stellar debut with the Owls, scoring 20 points while pulling down nine rebounds over the two-game stretch.
> Graduate Mia Davis averaged 17 points per game over the the opening week, leading the team.
> Senior Alexa Williamson led the team in points and rebounds against FGCU as she tallied 23 points and 12 rebounds, her first double-double of the season.

THE OWLS
> Both Mia Davis and Alexa Williamson picked up right where they left off last season. Davis and Williamson enter the second week of the season averaging 17 and 15.5 points per game, respectively.
> Williamson recorded a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds against FGCU.
> Graduate transfer guard Jiselle Thomas scored a team-high 20 points in her Temple debut against Saint Francis (PA).
> Point guard Jasha Clinton, named to the AAC All-Freshman Team last season, dished out 10 assists against Florida Gulf Coast.

SCOUTING ST. JOHN'S
> Like the Owls, the Red Storm split their opening games of the season, most recently falling to Stony Brook on Sunday, 72-60.
> St. John's is led by Junior guard Leilani Correa who averaged 20 points per game and 4.5 rebounds over the two games to be named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
> Forward Rayven Peeples does it all for SJU, leading the team in rebounds, blocks, and steals to go along with 15 points per game.
> Guard Camree Clegg is the main facilitator on the squad, racking up 11 assists over the team's first two games.

> The Owls continue their three-game home stand with another matchup in McGonigle Hall against Bucknell on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 2:00pm. The game will air on ESPN+.
