Kopec Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

NEW YORK, N.Y. - In the final weekly honors release of the season, Julianne Kopec was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. This is her third weekly honor but first time being tabbed Freshman of the Week.Â
Kopec scored the game-winner over #20 UConn to clinch Temple's BIG EAST Tournament berth. The win was the first time the Owls have topped UConn since 1989 and the first time the team has defeated a ranked opponent since 2016. She fired two shots, putting one on target.
Temple will return to the pitch Friday afternoon to face No. 8 Liberty in the semifinal round of the BIG EAST Tournament.Â
