Balanced Effort Lifts Women's Basketball Past St. Francis, 73-53

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's basketball team opened the 2021-22 season with a statement, topping St. Francis (Pa.) 73-53 at home Tuesday night.
How It Happened
> Temple's balanced attack led the way, with the Owls shooting 49.1 percent from the field and 66.7 percent at the charity stripe.
> The Owls forced 28 turnovers and limited what the Red Flash could do from three-point range.
> Temple opened the game on fire, entering the season with a bang after the modified 2020-21 season, and never stopped until the game was over.

> Jiselle Thomas is the first player to score 20 points in a Temple debut since Mia Davis in 2017.
> 11 players scored points, with Thomas (20) and Davis (18) scoring in double-figures.
> Davis and Alexa Williamson led the team with three of Temple's 14 steals each.
