3.18.21 | Field Hockey

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Temple field hockey team has 21 student-athletes named to the NFHCA 2020 Division I National Academic Squad, as announced on Thursday morning.

This year, over 1,200 student-athletes from more than 75 Division I institutions earned recognition on the 2020 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad. The Division I National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2020-2021 academic year.

The University of Louisville led all institutions with the most National Academic Squad selections, placing 25 student-athletes on the list. Ball State University had the second-most honorees, with 24 student-athletes recognized.

Seniors Dani Batze, Mia Sexton, and Grace Shanton have earned the honor all four years of their Temple field hockey careers.

Three Division I academic awards remain to be announced — the NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction will be announced on March 25 and the NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Awards will be released on March 29. The NFHCA Division I National Scholar-Athlete will be announced on June 15, 2021.
