Batze, Molchany, and Phillips Named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - Three Temple field hockey players have earned NFCHA Division I Scholar of Distinction honors, with Dani Batze, Maddie Molchany, and Megan Phillips all being tabbed. This is the second-straight year the Owls have put three players on the list.

This year, more than 250 student-athletes have been recognized as NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction. The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2020-21 academic year.

Batze is an advertising major and earned a 4.0 GPA during the fall 2020 semester for a cumulative GPA of 3.97. Molchany is an early childhood education major and earned a 3.89 GPA during the fall 2020 semester for a cumulative GPA of 3.91. Phillips is a public relations and communications and social influence double major and earned a 4.0 GPA during the fall 2020 semester for a 4.0 cumulative GPA.

The Owls will return to action this weekend, hosting Providence College to resume BIG EAST play after a two-week non-conference tune-up.
