Field Hockey Concludes Season in Tournament Semifinals

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. - After qualifying for the BIG EAST Tournament for the first time since 2016, the Temple field hockey team fell 4-0 to the No. 1 seed UConn Thursday afternoon in the tournament semifinals. Freshman Kaitlyn Cummins was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts against the eventual tournament champion
Recapping the Game
> UConn got on the board early, scoring five minutes into the game.
> The Huskies doubled their lead in the second quarter, with Claire Jandenwerth scoring on a penalty corner. Temple's best chance to get one the board in the first half came in the second quarter, with the team unable to capitalize on their chances in the circle.
> The Owls held UConn to just two shots in the third, but Sophie Hamilton was able to find the back of the cage at the 42-minute mark.
> With just under six minutes left in the game, UConn was able to seal the win with its fourth goal of the day.
