> The Cherry and White's best chance for the go-ahead goal came in the third quarter with four consecutive penalty corners, but Temple couldn't convert.

> Megan Ragusa posted two saves, with Villanova goalie Jordan McGinley recording eight saves on nine shots on frame from Temple.

Quotable
> "This win was massive. We need to be competitive in the BIG EAST and get wins, but we're in control of our own destiny. Our defense has been so important, and another shutout shows that we're continuing to grow and feel empowered. I feel great going into Sunday because playing a ranked opponent is another opportunity to show our ability and test ourselves. I'm excited and looking forward to the next one." – Michelle Vittese
