Muller Named Offensive Player of the Week, Frey Named to Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. - After going 2-0 over the weekend and clinching a berth to the 2022 BIG EAST Tournament, the Temple field hockey team had two players earn weeklt conference honors. Tess Muller was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Molly Frey was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll. This is the third league honor for Muller and fifth for Frey.

Muller scored one goal and recorded one assist in the 3-2 victory over #13 UConn Friday afternoon. The Naarden, Netherlands native fired two shots, putting one on target.

Frey allowed just two goals this weekend, both against the Huskies, shutting out Lock Haven on senior day. She recorded 11 saves, including a career-high six against the Huskies. The Eagleville, Pa. native led a defense that successfully defended 10 penalty corners.

The Owls will return to the field Friday afternoon for the semifinal round of the BIG EAST Tournament, facing host team Old Dominion as the No. 4 seed.
