PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Â The Temple volleyball team was swept on Sunday afternoon in McGonigle Hall by No. 24 UCF, 17-15, 20-25, 22-25.

In the loss, the Owls fall to 10-19 overall and 4-14 in conference play, while the Knights improve to 25-1 overall and 17-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UCF's Mekenna Melville led the match with 18 kills, hitting at a .471 clip.
- Four Knights hitters, including Claudia Dillon, Heidi Bonde, Abby Hansen, and Amber Olson, had a .333 or better hitting percentage in the win.
- As a team the Knights hit .388 in the three-set win, while Temple hit .163.
Set 1 (UCF 25, Temple 17)
- With Temple trailing the Knights by a point (7-6), UCF's Chloe Scheer ran of four consecutive at points at the service line before the Owls could to break her momentum. Scheer had ace to start the run and then her teammates, Melville, Bonde, and Olson recorded a kill to extend the lead to 11-7.
- The Knights finished the set by winning four of the final five points on Amber Olson's serve.
- Bonde had a set-high five kills on a .625 hitting percentage.
- In the set loss, four Owls including Kayla Spells, Jelena Prolic, and Taylor Davenport recorded two kills.
Set 2 (UCF 25, Temple 20)
- Leading into the media timeout, Temple held a one lead on six occasions, while UCF led at the media timeout out by a pair of points (15-13) and having led by four occasions.
- Central Florida broke away from Temple when Kari Zumach had three kills on four Knights' points, putting her team up by the score of 21-16.
- Melville sealed the Knights' 25-20 win with her 12th kill of the match.
- Melville led the set with seven kills, while hitting .385.
- The Owls' Chelci Banks came off the bench in set two with a team-high three kills on five attempts, hitting .600.
Set 3 (UCF 25, Temple 22)
- Temple came out hot in the final set, jumping out to a 10-7 lead, forcing the nationally-ranked Knights into their first timeout. After the timeout, Temple went on a 5-2 run with the help of three consecutive Knights' errors, forcing its opponent into its final timeout.
- Melville added her 16th kill of the day after the timeout, jump starting the Knights on 6-0 run. During that rally, UCF forced Temple into four consecutive attack errors, giving them a one point lead (18-17).
- The Cherry and White held on to the lead for a few more points before UCF took the lead at 18-17. Dillon (2), Melville (2), and Hansen (1) combined for five kills to help the Knights to victory over the final nine Knight points.
- Peyton Boyd and Prolic made it tough for the USF as the two Owl hitters combined for eight kills in the final set.
