Gourdine Named AAC Freshman of the Week; Davis Honor Roll

IRVING, Texas - The American Athletic Conference announced today that Temple's Aniya Gourdine and Mia Davis earned weekly honors for their performances last week. Gourdine earned her fourth Freshman of the Week honor this season while Davis was named to the Honor Roll. Gourdine stuffed the stat sheet again this past week as the freshman guard totaled 29 points (9.7 ppg), 31 rebounds (10.3 rpg), 20 assists (6.7 apg), and 10 steals (3.3 spg) while playing the most minutes on the team in a 2-1 week for the Owls. Against the Pirates, Gourdine recorded a triple-double when she scored 13 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and dished out 10 assists to record the first triple-double in program history.
Davis led the Owls in scoring once again this past week as the forward averaged 20.0 points per game. Davis shot 48% from the field while averaging six rebounds per game over the three-game stretch.
Gourdine was also named to the Big 5 Honor Roll.
