Burkhardt, Schuilenburg Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Two Temple field hockey players have been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after impressive performances last weekend, with McKenna Burkhardt and Myrthe Schuilenburg being tabbed. This is the first conference honor of the season for Schuilenburg and the second-straight for Burkhardt.
Scheilenburg scored a career-high two goals in the 6-3 win over Quinnipiac in the league opener, including the game winner. The Alphen Aan Den Rijn, Netherlands
native went 1-1 in penalty strokes and fired two shots with both on target.

Burkhardt scored the team's first goal of the game on a penalty stroke attempt in the 6-3 win over Quinnipiac in the league opener. She fired five total shots, putting three on target, and recorded one defensive save. The Bethlehem, Pa. native helped lead a defense that recorded one shutout, successfully defended nine penalty corners, and held La Salle to just four shots.
The Owls will return to BIG EAST play Friday night at Villanova before returning to North Broad for the first of a four-game homestand against Penn Sunday afternoon.
