No. 24 Field Hockey to Face Pair of Big 5 Rivals

PHILADELPHIA - Coming off a comeback win against Quinnipiac and a shutout over La Salle last weekend, the No. 24 Temple field hockey team will face a pair of Big 5 Rivals in Villanova and Penn this weekend. The Owls will stay in Philly but split time between home and away, facing the Wildcats at the Proving Grounds and hosting the Quakers on North Broad.Â
SCOUTING TEMPLE
>Â The Owls are off to their best start in nearly 30 years, going 7-1 (1-0 BIG EAST) and entering the rankings at No. 24 for the first time since 2014.
> Temple has outscored its opponents 27-7, scoring six more goals than last season's total through just eight games. The Cherry and White has scored 5+ goals four times this season.
> 12 Owls have scored so far, with Julianne Kopec leading the team with five.
> Molly Frey has been a force in goal, posting 21 of the team's 24 saves. She enters the weekend with a 0.750 save percentage to rank 20th in the NCAA and a 0.88 GAA to rank fourth. Her win-loss percentage (0.875) is fifth.
