Kinzel Named Defensive Player of the Week, Schuilenburg Named to Honor Roll

NEW YORK - After helping lead the Temple field hockey team to a 2-0 weekend and clinching a spot in the BIG EAST Tournament, Devin Kinzel has been named BIG EAST  Defensive Player of the Week and Myrthe Schuilenburg has been named to the Weekly Honor Roll. This is the second conference honor for Kinzel and first for Schuilenburg.

Kinzel scored a pair of goals in the win against Quinnipiac, the second time this season she's scored a brace. The Virginia Beach, Va. fired a team-leading three shots against the Bobcats, putting two on target and led a DPC unit that successfully defended four of four corner attempts.

Schuilenburg scored the game-winner against Quinnipiac in overtime on a rebounded shot off a corner attempt. The Alphen aan den Rijn, Netherlands native fired two shots, putting one on target.

The Owls will return to the field for the BIG EAST Tournament semifinals on Nov. 3, facing No. 2 seed Old Dominion at Howarth Field.
