Fencing Travels to Connecticut for Sacred Heart Duals

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple fencing team will travel to Fairfield, Conn. on Sunday, Dec. 3 for the Sacred Heart Duals where they will be facing off against NYU, Vassar, NJIT, and the host Sacred Heart. The Owls will begin meet will begin at 11 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT
In their last time out during the Nikki Franke Classic, the Owls finished with four top-8 finishes and 11 top-15 finishes. The Cherry and White were led by Lindsey Minor (epee) and Elizabeth Novoseltseva (foil) who both tied for third in their respective weapons.

FOIL
Elizabeth Novoseltseva led the Temple foilists for a tie of third place. Anastasia Yankovskiy rounded out the top 10 in the foil with a 10th place finish, while 2022 and 2023 NCAA Qualifier Anna Novoseltseva (12th) rounded out the top-15 in the respective weapon.

TU freshman Lindsey Minor placed the highest of all Temple epeeist during the Nikki Franke Classic, finishing in third place, while Margherita Calderaro placed ninth. Cindy Long (epee) earned an 11th place finish after falling 15-11 to Minor in the Round of 16.Â
SABRE
In the sabre, Alexandra Weinberg placed fifth overall, while Zoe Turner was the other top-10 finisher, placing three spots behind in eighth. Rounding out the top 15 was Lauren Johnson with a 12th-place finish and Eva Ventura's 15th place.

Last season at the same event, Temple went 4-1, topping NJIT 15-12, defeating No. 1 NYU (DIII) 19-8, dominating host Sacred Heart 22-5 and No. 8 Vassar (DIII) 25-2 to close out the meet. The lone loss of the day came against No. 4 Harvard, falling 16-11.
