Owls Sweep Knights 7-0 Winning Fourth in a Row

Philadelphia – The Temple women's tennis team (5-1) won their fourth match in a row, defeating the FDU Knights (0-4) by a final score of 7-0 during their midday match on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Legacy Tennis Center.

Notes:

This victory marks the third straight match that the women's tennis team has not allowed their opponent to score a point.
No. 8 Jamie Wei and Maiko Uchijima stay perfect as a doubles pairing, picking up their fourth victory together in the spring season now sitting at 4-0.
Newcomer Thamara Frasser Kawaratani won again in singles play this time from the fourth position. She now moves to 4-1 overall in singles play in her first official season with the Owls.
Maiko Uchijima started the singles scoring for the Owls completing her match first from the fifth position beating one-time NEC Rookie of the Month Valentina Silva, 6-0 / 6-1.

The women's team has a busy weekend ahead hosting both Norfolk St. on Saturday, Feb. 25, and then Siena on Sunday, Feb. 26. Both matches will be held at the Hecht Tennis Center on Penn's Campus and will begin at 4:00 p.m.
