Track & Field Returns to Competition with AAC Outdoor Championships

PHILADELPHIA- After a one week hiatus, the Temple track & field team returns to competition this weekend at the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships at the University of South Florida. The event will stream all three days on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
> Temple had a very strong weekend at the Penn Relays, with competition on all three days.
> Laura Nicholson ran in the 1500m dash. She earned bronze in the event will running a time of 4:17.03, the third fastest time in program history. Nicholson set a school record time at the Temple Invite earlier this year.
> Amira Green earned silver in the high jump (1.64m/5-4 ½ ft). While both the 4x100 and 4x400 teams advanced to the finals of their respective events.
Previewing the Owls - Friday
> Fiona Carter will kick off the event, competing in the Heptathlon.
> Nicholson will run in the 1500m at 6:30pm.
> Chelby Elam, Lauren Greig, and Madison Trout will spirit in the 200m dash.
> Isatu Shirek will be the lone Owl running in the 400m hurdles at 7:30.
> Catherine Shontz will close out the day with the 10000m run at 7:55.

> Allyson Metzger and Tannekee Strachan will begin Saturday for Temple with the long jump at 3:00 pm.
> Program record holder Allie Riches will compete in the pole vault at 4:30.
> Shirek returns in the 100m hurdles at 5:25.
> Nicholson and Elvira Bredin will compete in the 800m run at 6:00.
> Chidumga Nkulume will look to continue her strong season in the 400m dash at 6:30.
> The 200m runners of Elam, Greig, and Trout will return for the 100m dash at 7:00.

> Strachan will look to break the program record she set last year in the triple jump at 2:30.
> Nicole Castor, Jaaliyah Evans, and Amira Green will jump in the high jump at 4:30.
> The 4x100m team will also run at 4:30.
> Nicholson will run in her signature event, the 1500m, at 4:50.
> Shontz will compete in the 5000m run at 6:45.
> The event will close out with the 4x400m at 7:45.
