PHILADELPHIA - After opening its 2023 campaign strong, the Temple field hockey team has entered the NFHCA Rankings at No. 19. This is the highest ranking the Owls have seen since ending the 2014 season ranked No. 16.

The Cherry and White returns to the rankings after ending the 2022 season ranked No. 23, the only previous unranked team to enter the top-20. Temple is 6-2 (1-0 BIG EAST) through four weekends of competition, falling only to Yale and No. 6 Virginia. The Owls opened their conference slate with a 1-0 shutout of UConn last Friday, topping the Huskies for the third-straight year.

On the offensive side of the ball, Preseason All-Conference selection Tess Muller leads the team with three goals. All three have been game-winners, including the game-winner against UConn. The Naarden, Netherlands native also leads the team with 14 shots. Alizé Maes is the team's main feeder, posting three assists and scoring one goal.
