10.15.24 | Field Hockey
NEW YORK, N.Y. - Mathéa Lassalle and Isabella Ospitale of the No. 20 Temple field hockey team have both been honored by the BIG EAST as members of the conference weekly honor roll as announced on Tuesday afternoon.Â
Lassalle scored the game winner as Temple posted its sixth consecutive win, a 1-0 victory against Providence in its only game of the week. With just less than two minutes remaining in the third quarter, Lassalle settled a rebound off a penalty corner and lofted the ball over the outstretched keeper and into the top left corner of the net for the only tally of the contest.
Against the PC, Ospitale recorded her third shutout of the season. She made three saves, all of them in the second half. Two of her saves came in a final flurry for the Friars when Providence earned four consecutive penalty corners with under 45 seconds remaining. On the final one, after she made the save, she kicked the ball out of the circle after the buzzer sounded to complete the victory.Â
Temple has a pair of games this week, hosting Georgetown on Friday, October 18 at 1:00 p.m. before a road, non-conference matchup at Lafayette on Sunday, October 20, also at 1:00 p.m.
