NEW YORK, N.Y. - Alizé Maes and Isabella Ospitale of the No. 20 Temple field hockey team have both been honored by the BIG EAST on Tuesday in the weekly conference awards. Maes was named the Offensive Player of the Week and Ospitale was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Maes scored three times including both game-winners for the Owls in a 2-0 week that included a 5-1 win against No. 18 Liberty and a 2-1 win in double overtime against Wagner. Versus the Flames, her tally four minutes into the third quarter snapped a 1-1 tie and propelled Temple to a four-goal second half for its first victory against Liberty since 2011. On Sunday, she tied the game against Wagner in the second quarter on a penalty corner and then delivered the game winner with less than four minutes remaining in double overtime, giving TU its fifth win in a row.

Earning her second consecutive Defensive Player of the Week honor, Ospitale continued her impressive run in defending the cage, posting a 0.88 goals against average and a .867 save percentage with 12 total stops during the week. In the victory against Liberty on Friday, she made a career-high eight saves, including one on a penalty stroke. On Sunday against Wagner, she stopped four shots including a pair of point blank efforts off a penalty corner to end the first half, keeping the game tied and allowing the Owls to force overtime.

The Owls return to action on Friday, October 11, hosting Providence at Howarth Field at 2:00 p.m.
