Fencing to Compete at North American Cup in Kansas City

PHILADELPHIA – Seven Temple fencers will return to action this weekend at the North American Cup (NAC) in Kansas City, MO, from Friday, Jan. 4, through Monday, Jan. 7. This marks the Owls' second NAC event of the season, following their first competition in October in Atlantic City.

The entire Owls squad will return to action on Jan. 17 and 19 at the Philadelphia Invitational, with Temple set to host the Jan. 17 portion of the event at the TU Pavilion.

- Jara Del Cura will represent the Owls in Division I Foil on Friday morning.
- Del Cura enters the NAC with a 10-5 meet record this season, including an 8-1 showing at the Tradition Meet on Dec. 8.
- The freshman advanced to the round of 64 at the Atlantic City NAC in October.
- Temple will send four epeeists to Kansas City to compete in Division I Epee.
- Victoria Doroshkevich is set to compete in her second NAC with the Owls after advancing to the round of 64 in October.
- Grace Smith posted a +11 touch score in pool play in the previous NAC and advanced to the round of 128.
- Auprell Edwards and Lindsey Minor will also compete. Minor reached the elimination rounds during the October NAC.
- Senior Eva Ventura heads to her second NAC of the season after an impressive performance at the Tradition Meet, where she finished 8-2.
- Sophomore Lauren Johnson will make her first NAC appearance this season. After an outstanding freshman campaign, Johnson started the dual meet season with a 16-9 record.
