Gymnastics Hosts Alumni Night Quad Meet

PHILADELPHIA – Temple is set to host Alumni Night on Saturday, February 8, bringing together a competitive field featuring Southern Connecticut State, Fisk, and UPenn. The meet will begin at 5:00 PM and be held in McGonigle Hall.

VAULT  
Temple started strong on vault in the Women in Sports Meet, earning a team total of 48.500. Amelia Budd led the way with an impressive 9.775, while Nikki Rengifo followed closely with a 9.750. Renee Schugman contributed a solid 9.725, while Hannah Weklar and Kyrstin Johnson each posted a 9.625. Harmony Haro rounded out the lineup with a steady 9.600 to complete the rotation.  

BARS
The Owls posted a 48.300 on bars, with Sarah Stallings delivering a standout performance, scoring a team-high 9.850. Weklar followed with a strong 9.675, while Megan White and Reese DeHaan added consistent routines, scoring 9.650 and 9.575, respectively. Breanna Varano contributed a 9.550, and Mariella Brueck closed the event with an 8.825.  

BEAM 
Temple kept up the momentum on the beam, earning a 48.475. Madison Dorunda led the lineup with an impressive 9.825, while Schugman followed with a strong 9.750. Robyn Dunne added a solid 9.700, while White contributed a 9.625. Rounding out the rotation, Summer Ruskey and Brooke Donabedian posted scores of 9.575 and 9.500, respectively.  

FLOOR
The Owls closed the meet on a high note, finishing with a team total of 48.900 on the floor. Ruskey and Donabedian led the way with matching scores of 9.825. Schugman followed closely with a 9.800, while Johnson added a solid 9.750. Dorunda and Haro wrapped up the event with scores of 9.700 and 9.675, respectively, capping off a strong overall performance for Temple.  

SCOUTING SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STATE
Southern Connecticut gymnastics posted a season-high 191.675 at the Tonry Invitational, finishing third behind Yale and Bridgeport. Otus the Owl saw standout performances across multiple events, led by Hanna Zebdi season-best 9.825 on the floor, which earned her a third-place finish. Libby Allen and Lexi Bracher shined on vault, tying for second with matching 9.775s, a season-best for both. Allen was also impressed on the beam with a team-high of 9.725, while Ciana Rios secured a second-place finish on bars with a 9.750.

SCOUTING FISK
Fisk posted a 191.375 at Rutgers, highlighted by Morgan Price's dominant all-around performance, including event wins on beam (9.875) and bars (9.825). Price also secured third place in the vault with a 9.825, while Aliyah Reed-Hammon followed closely on the beam with a 9.800. Price led the Bulldogs on the floor with a 9.800, as Ciniah Rosby added a strong 9.675. The team also posted a season-high 47.525 on bars, going 6-for-6 for the first time this season, marking a significant step forward in their progression.

SCOUTING UPENN
Penn posted a season-high 194.750, highlighted by standout performances across all events. On bars, the team posted a 48.750, with Skyelar Kerico anchoring the rotation with a team-high 9.775. Vault saw a 48.800 total, with Marissa Lassiter leading the way at 9.800 and Barrow closing with 9.825. The team excelled on the floor with a 49.075, led by Zara Gazdak career-high 9.875, while Lassiter and Kerico posted 9.825. On beam, Barrow led with a 9.700, and the team finished with a 48.125. Notable individual achievements included Lassiter winning the all-around, Barrow's vault title, Kerico's win on bars, and Gazdak's floor victory.

UP NEXT
Temple will return to action and travel to Lexington, KY for the Kentucky Meet on Feb. 14.
