Rieger Tabbed BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for First Time in Career
9.16.25 | Field Hockey
NEW YORK – After registering a pair of game-winning goals in an undefeated week for the Temple University field hockey team, senior midfielder/forward Peyton Rieger was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Rieger tallied her first two goals of the 2025 campaign in a 1-0 win over Lafayette and added the opening goal in a 4-1 triumph over Lehigh.
The Woolwich, N.J., native and team captain moved into second on the Owls in points this season (7) with the two goals, tied with freshmen Lucia Magro and Mara Lenting. She is also tied for the team lead in assists (3) with fellow senior Agustina Tucceri.
Through 61 career games, Rieger has recorded 11 goals and 10 assists for 32 points.
This marks Rieger's first conference player of the week honor. She was previously named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Oct. 1, 2024. She becomes Temple's first BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week this season and the first since Alizé Maes earned the final honor of the 2024 season.
Rieger and the Owls return to action Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Drexel as they look to extend their winning streak to four against the Dragons.
