Gymnastics to Compete in its Final Regular Season Meet at George Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Temple will be back in action on Sunday, March 15 at the George Washington Quad Meet with Maryland and Towson. The meet will begin at 1:00 pm and will be streamed on ESPN+. This will be Temple's final regular season meet before the 2026 EAGL Championships hosted by the LIU Sharks in Brookville, N.Y. on Saturday, March 21 at 5:00 pm.
LAST TIME OUT
The Temple Owls posted a season-high 194.875 for a 3rd place finish at the Maryland Quad Meet. The Cherry & White put up a season-high 48.950 on the beam that featured three Owls scoring a 9.800 or higher. On the bars, Temple tied a season-high 48.625 that helped the overall score in a massive fashion.

Rotation 1 (BARS: 48.625)
The Owls notched two big-time scores in the night's opening round at the Maryland Quad Meet. Freshman Ava Sutphen notched her second 9.800 of the season on bars in Saturday night's meet. Sutphen last reached that score in week one at Rutgers. Sophomore Robyn Dunne scored her third 9.800 or higher on the bars this season with tonight's 9.825. Freshman Ella Beck marked a new career-high on the bars at Maryland with a 9.725.

Rotation 2 (BEAM: 48.950)
Temple continued the momentum gained in rotation one into rotation two and put up a season-high beam performance. Three Owls posted a 9.800 or higher in the rotation, starting with Megan White's 9.825. Nikki Rengifo added a 9.800 to the rotation in the anchor spot. Dunne continued her outstanding night by posting a 9.850 on beam to round out a stellar Temple beam performance.
Rotation 3 (FLOOR: 48.625)
Temple had strong contributions from the final three to compete in the rotation. Nikki Rengifo and Amelia Budd each posted a 9.775 on their respective floor routines. Brooklyn Thomas put up the highest score for the Owls in the rotation in her home state. The freshman tied a career-high score of a 9.800.

Rotation 4 (VAULT: 48.675)
The Owls showed consistency on the vault tonight in route to its highest team score overall this season. Rengifo and Budd complimented each other and posted a 9.775 on their routines, much like they did on floor. The team high on the apparatus went to Thomas as she, again, scored a 9.800.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
The George Washington Revolutionaries come into the week with two meets on slate. The Revs will first compete this week against Maryland, Penn, and Towson at Towson on Friday, March 13. The Buff and Blue will then host Temple, Maryland, and Towson on Sunday at 1:00 pm in our Nation's Capital. The Revs enter the week with an average score this season of a 193.117. Most recently the team is coming off a third-place finish against New Hampshire and Bowling Green with GW posting a team score of 191.125. Senior Deana Sheremeta is an all-around star for the Revs and competes on all events.
The Maryland Terrapins enter the week as the 28th ranked program in the country and averages a 195.828. The Terps will first compete this week against GW, Penn, and Towson at Towson on Friday, March 13 the Terps and Owls continue this stretch of competing against each other as this will be the third time in just over a week the teams will meet. Maryland secured the first-place finish on Saturday against Temple, Ball State, and Cornell with a 196.225. Aine Reed and Josephine Kogler each posted a first-place finish on the floor with their respective 9.875. On beam, Rayna Engelmayer finished in a tie for first place with her 9.875. Head coach of the Terps, Brett Nelligan, picked up his 300th career victory with the win on Saturday.
The Towson Tigers come into this Sunday off of a third place, 195.000 performance last Thursday at Temple. The Tigers will first compete this week against Maryland, Penn, and GW at Towson on Friday, March 13. Towson got solid contributions from Isabella Minervini and Polina Belanovski on the bars Thursday as the duo took first and second place, respectively, with a 9/925 and a 9.850. The pair also finished in first and second place overall in the all-around standings of last week's meet. Minervini finished with a 39.275 and Belanovski with a 39.050.
