After just one season away from the action at Temple field hockey games, Charise Young returned to the Owls on the sidelines as an assistant coach for her first season in 2011. Young graduated from Temple in 2010 with a secondary/social studies education degree and nearly a 4.0 grade-point-average.

Young earned numerous honors in her career as an Owl, particularly as a senior in 2009. She was a two-time Atlantic 10 First Team selection and was the 2008-09 and 2009-10 Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year. As a senior, Young was named TU's Female Student-Athlete of the Year.

An ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large First Team selection as a senior, Young led the team and tied for first in the A-10 with 11 assists. She was named to the 2009 Longstretch/NFHCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team for the second-straight year.

Young, a Harleysville, Pa., native, started all 81 games during her career with the Owls. During that span she notched 18 goals and a team-leading 26 assists. As a senior, Young helped lead Temple to its seventh consecutive appearance in the Atlantic 10 Tournament and first showing in the championship game since 2003. Young's sister, Carissa, was also a four-year member of the team and played her senior season in 2011.
