Jamie Whitten, a four-year letterwinner at Wake Forest (2003-2006), is in her second season as assistant coach for the Cherry and White. Whitten's primary duties, along with on-field coaching, are recruiting, fundraising and travel. Whitten started in every game of her four year career with Wake Forest. Whitten was named to the All-ACC American team, All-ACC team, NCAA All-Tournament team, and was Second Team All-American in 2006. While at Wake Forest, the team captured two National Championships (2004 and 2005), as well as two ACC Championships (2004 and 2006). Whitten was a core member of the Wake Forest defense, which in 2005 allowed only 0.96 goals per game. Whitten was not only a field hockey standout in the U.S. but was part of numerous international teams and tournaments. From 2004 to 2006 Whitten was a member of the United States Women's Field Hockey Junior National Team. She competed in the 2005 Junior Pan American Games held in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In the fall of 2004 Whitten was a member of the Four Nations Tournament Team that played in Santiago, Chile. In 2005, Whitten returned to Chile to compete with the Junior World Cup Team. Whitten graduated from Wake Forest in May 2007 with a degree in English and Sociology. She was a member of the Dean's List from spring of 2004 until the spring of 2006. Whitten was also a member of the ACC Honor Roll for 2004 until 2006. Whitten joins the Owls with experience from coaching stints with Wake Forest University Elite and Team Camp (2004-2006), Princeton University Camp (2005-2006), and Champions Edge Camp at Garrison Forest School (2005). She is also currently coaches with the local club Mystx. She is pursuing a master's degree in Urban Education from Temple.
