Maeke Boreel, a two-time NFHCA All-American and three-time NCAA National Champion at Wake Forest, is in her first season as Temple's volunteer assistant coach. The Almen, Holland native also was a three time All-ACC and All-Region performer and led the Demon Deacons to the NCAA National Championship in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Boreel holds program records for assists in a career (54), season (20) and game (six). She also scored 28 goals for a career total of 110 points. She was named a NFHCA Second Team All-American in 2004 after leading the nation with 20 assists. Following the Demon Deacons third straight NCAA Championship in 2005, she repeated as a Second Team NFHCA All-American. A starter in all 91 games of her illustrious career, Boreel also was a standout in the classroom. A Dean's List honoree every semester of her academic career, Boreel was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll and NFHCA National Honor Roll during her time in Winston-Salem, NC. During her career, she compiled an 83-8 record and was a teammate of current Temple graduate assistant Jamie Whitten for two seasons. Boreel graduated with a bachelor's degree in business from Wake Forest in 2006. She is pursuing a master's of business administration at Temple's Fox School of Business.
