Tom Crowley

Tom Crowley

  • Position:
    Assistant AD/Development
  • Class:
    Redshirt Freshman
Tom Crowley, a former standout basketball player at Pennsylvania, is in his second year as Assistant Athletic Director for Development at Temple. Crowley came to TU after serving four years in a similar capacity at the University of Vermont.

A 1978 graduate of The Wharton School, Crowley, who captained the Quakers[apos] 1978 NCAA Sweet 16 team, began his career in collegiate athletics as a men[apos]s basketball coach. He served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, helping guide Penn on its magical run to the 1979 Final Four. After that season, he left to become an assistant coach at Xavier (1979-82) and returned to Penn (1982-85).

Crowley also served as an assistant at Rutgers and Stanford before taking over as head coach at St. Michael[apos]s. There, he guided the Division II school to the Northeast 10 playoffs in six consecutive seasons, culminating in a NE-10 Championships and a trip to the NCAA Sweet 16 in 1997.

At Vermont, Crowley developed and implemented the Victory Club, an annual giving organization, and was able to reach its goal of raising $500,000. He also developed donor strategies and stewardship programs as well as organizing various Victory Club events.
