- Helped the Owls to a season-high 49.075 against Towson (1/21) with a career-high 9.775.

Payton has been a Level 10 gymnast since 2021 and trains at Northeast Gymnastics Academy in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. In her first season as an L10, Payton qualified for the Junior Olympic Nationals in Daytona Beach, Fla. After placing fifth in the all-around and second on the floor at the Region 7 Championships, the Pennsylvania native had a strong showing at the JO event where she earned a top-15 finish on the floor exercise. In 2022, Payton finished fifth in the all-around and fourth in the floor exercise at the Level 10 State Championships. There she moved on to the Region 7 Championships, placing sixth place on floor. At the 2022 Christmas on the Chesapeake meet, she earned a personal-best score of 9.8 in the floor exercise, giving her first place for the second time in three as an L10.
