Charise Young scores first for Owls but Lock Haven comes back with four unanswered goals

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Temple's Charise Young scored the first goal of the game, but the Lock Haven field hockey team went on to score four unanswered goals in a non-conference match-up on Saturday morning to earn a 4-1 win against the Owls.
Temple falls to 3-7 overall while Lock Haven improves to 6-3. The Owls have three non-conference games remaining before their Atlantic 10 schedule begins.
Ten minutes into play, Young tipped in a shot off a penalty corner with assists from Kristen Wanner and Mandi Ruth to give the Owls a 1-0 advantage.
The lead held until close to halftime when Suzann Hobart put Lock Haven on the board with a shot from the near post that got past Temple goalkeeper Sarah Dalrymple.
It was all Lock Haven in the second half as the Eagles scored a trio of goals, including two by Amy Hordendorf on penalty corners. Lock Haven finished with an 11-6 edge in the number of penalty corners taken, as well as a 20-8 advantage in shots for the game.
Temple will return to action tomorrow with a road game at Bucknell at 12:00 p.m.
