Owls look to rebound from a four game losing streak Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

The Temple field hockey team returns to action Saturday after suffering their fourth straight defeat at the hands of No. 16 Drexel 3-1 on Wednesday. This contest marks the last of a five-game homestand for the Owls.

In Temple's last time out, Bridget Settles added to her team lead in points as she found the back of the net 13 minutes into the game for her seventh goal of the season. Drexel answered six minutes later to tie the contest at 1-1. Temple played a strong first half but the Owls ended up on the defensive end for most of the second half as the nationally-ranked Dragons outshot Temple 10-5.

All-time, the Owls are 11-2 against the Eagles with their last regular season win coming at home in 2002 by a score of 2-0.

The Owls' leading scorer is Settles with 16 points in eight games. Settles' seven goals lead the team while Katie Briglia, and Taryn Nichols, are tied for second on the team with two points each.

Sarah Dalrymple has been the Owls' lone goalkeeper this season making 33 saves. Her goals against average is 2.01 and she has recorded three shutouts on the year.

Coming into Saturday's matchup with the Owls, the No. 15 American University field hockey team holds a 5-2 record. The Eagles defeated James Madison on September 13 by a score of 2-1.

Gina Hoffman and Anne Van erp are tied for the team lead in scoring as they have tallied eight points each through seven games. Junior Natalie Ellenberger is second on the team with seven points. Goalkeeper Hannah Weitzman has started all seven games this season. Weitzman has recorded 13 saves on the season and has a goals against average of 0.88.

Steve Jennings is in his 12th season as the head coach of AU's women's field hockey program, where he has amassed a 145-72 career record. Under Jennings' leadership, the Eagles have claimed seven consecutive Patriot League Championships and enjoyed a 46-game win streak against Patriot League opponents. Jennings has been named Patriot League Coach of the Year six times, including each of the past five seasons.
