PHILADELPHIA -
The #19/23 Temple Owls (11-3, 2-0 A-10) takes the Liacouras Center floor Wednesday evening against St. Bonaventure (7:30 p.m./OwlAccess) with its highest ranking since reaching #12 in the final regular season Associated Press poll of the 2009-10 campaign. The game is the nightcap of a women's/men's doubleheader with the Temple women hosting Rhode Island at 5:00 p.m.

The Owls increased their home win streak to 14 games Sunday with a 57-53 win over Saint Louis despite playing without junior Juan Fernandez (11.0 ppg., 3.9 apg.). The Temple point guard suffered a bruised left knee at practice on January 7 and his status is questionable for the Bonnies game.

Junior Ramone Moore continues to lead the Owls with a 15.0 scoring average. Sophomore Khalif Wyatt (5.7 ppg.) made his first start in place of Fernandez Sunday and scored seven points. Senior Lavoy Allen leads the Owls in rebounding (6.4 rpg.) whole ranking third in scoring (10.7 ppg.). Junior Scootie Randall (8.5 ppg.) has scored in double figures in six of the last eight games while junior forward Micheal Eric (7.1 ppg,, 5.9 rpg.) tops the team and ranks sixth in the A-10 in blocked shots per game (1.8 bpg).

Temple's defense continues to power the Owls to success. The Cherry and White leads the league in scoring defense (58.6 ppg.) and field goal percentage defense (.386), ranking 15th and 22nd nationally in the respective categories.

St. Bonaventure, under the direction of fourth-year coach Mark Schmidt, is off to a 9-5 start, including a thrilling 92-88 three-overtime win over Charlotte Saturday in its A-10 opener. Junior forward Andrew Nicholson, who scored 34 points in the Charlotte game, leads the conference in scoring with a 22.4 average. The preseason first team all-A-10 selection also ranks second in the A-10 in field goal percentage (.564) and fourth in rebounding (8.6 rpg.).

Nicholson is not a one-man show as SBU sports three other double-figure scorers in junior guard Michael Davenport (13.0 ppg.), senior guard Ogo Adegboye (12.6 ppg.) and sophomore forward Demitrius Conger (11.3 ppg., 7.6 rpg.).

Temple has won 13 straight over St. Bonaventure and leads the series, 51-6.
