PHILADELPHIA - After leading 2-0 at halftime, the Temple field hockey team ultimately suffered a heartbreaking, 3-2 overtime loss to No. 9 Michigan on Saturday afternoon. Bridget Settles scored both goals for the Owls (1-2), while Rachael Mack scored the game-winner on a penalty corner in overtime for the Wolverines (2-1).

Just 4:26 into the game, the first of the 2011 Temple Tournament at the Owls' Geasey Field, Settles scored on a quick pass from Katie Briglia in a scramble in front of the net.

Sophomore goalkeeper Lizzy Millen, who finished the game with an impressive, career-high 10 saves, made six of those on seven Michigan shots in the first half.

The Owls got a golden opportunity on a penalty stroke in the 28th minute, which Settles converted to put the score at 2-0. The lead remained through halftime and the first 12 minutes of the second half.

Mack, who would go on to score the game-winner, also scored her team's first goal of the game on a tip-in after a shot by teammate Aline Fobe on a penalty corner. Michigan's Emy Guttman evened the score in the 56th minute, putting in a shot off a rebounded shot and save by Millen on another corner.

The tie remained through regulation, thanks to Millen's performance in goal late in the game. In the seven on seven overtime period, it took the Wolverines less than two minutes to receive an opportunity on a penalty corner, which Mack converted with assists from Fobe and Bryn Bain.

Temple will face Ohio at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the final game of the weekend.
