RICHMOND, Va. –
Continuing its spring break trip below the Mason-Dixon Line, Temple Baseball makes its way to Richmond for its first midweek game of the season when it takes on the Rams of Virginia Commonwealth University. Due to significant snowfall in Richmond on Monday, Tuesday's games has been pushed from its 3:00 p.m. start to a 6:00 p.m. first pitch at The Diamond.

For the Owls, senior LHP Dan Moller will make his first start of the season. In two relief appearances, he's totaled 2.2. innings of work. Moller will be opposed by VCU's senior right-hander  Seth Cutler-Voltz, who is 1-1 while sporting an ERA of 5.25 through two starts. Use the link to Live Stats above to keep up with the action.

The Owls roll into tonight's game following an offensive outburst in the series finale with the Longwood Lancers on Sunday. Temple exploded for 10 through the first three innings of the second game of the doubleheader, en route to its 11-1 victory behind redshirt senior Steve Nikorak.

Freshman catcher Nick Lustrino has made a strong impact early on and has filled the voids of big bats that departed from last year's team.  Following an eight-hit weekend, Lustrino pulled into a tie for most hits on the team with 12, while moving into second place on the team with a .353 batting average.
Senior Foster Dunigan holds the team's highest batting average at .357.

Off to a very consistent start has been senior Taylor Juran. Entering tonight's ballgame, Juran is looking to extend his current hitting streak to 10 consecutive games, giving him at least one hit in every game this season. Nikorak comes into tonight's game also looking to reach base safely for the 10th straight game.

VCU is 7-5 on the year and has won six of its last seven games. The Rams are fresh off their doubleheader sweep of Monmouth at home on Sunday.

At The Diamond, the Rams have lost just once in their seven games on their home field, that being on Saturday in the series opener against Monmouth.

Sophomore outfielder Bill Cullen leads VCU with his .431 batting average and 22 hits, including five triples already this season.

Sophomore infielder Joey Cujas has been a reliable hitter for the Rams as well, batting .419 with a team-high 13 RBIs through the team's first 12 games.
