For a fifth week in a row, Temple is ranked in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll, as the Owls moved up a spot this week to #17. With a 9-3 overall record, Temple is having its best season in six years.
In the BIG EAST, the Owls are 2-1 and tied for third in the conference standings. There are currently four teams in the BIG EAST ranked in the Top 20- #4 Connecticut, #14 Louisville, #17 Temple and #20 Old Dominion.
Senior Molly Doyle, who is currently tied for fourth in the conference in goals, scored all four of Temple's goals in two games last week. She scored the Owls' goal in a 2-1 overtime loss at Louisville, and then recorded her first career hat trick by leading Temple to a 3-1 win over Bucknell. For her efforts, Doyle was named the Under Armour OwlSports.com Athlete of the Week, and was also named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
The week before, the Owls picked up a 2-1 BIG EAST win vs. Rutgers and a 3-0 win vs. Sacred Heart. Freshman Katie Foran scored both goals against the Scarlet Knights, and added another along with an assist in the win over Sacred Heart. Senior Lauren Hunt scored the other two goals against SHU, and also assisted on both of Foran's goals vs. Rutgers.
Temple is playing three of its next four games at home, with the final one being Senior Day against Georgetown on Friday, Oct. 25. After wrapping up BIG EAST play at UConn on Nov. 2, the Owls will look to have secured a spot in the four-team BIG EAST Tournament which will be hosted by UConn on Nov. 8 and 10.
TEMPLE IN THE NCAA STATS

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
The Friars are 5-6 overall and 1-2 in BIG EAST play so far. Most recently, Providence lost 4-1 to then-#2 Connecticut, three days after defeating Brown, 5-1. Providence has a true standout player in junior forward Daniella Bernasconi, who leads the team and the BIG EAST with 14 goals and 30 total points this season. No one else on the team has scored more than two goals for the Friars.
In the all-time series, Temple leads Providence, 2-0. The last meeting between the teams was back in 2003, with Temple winning 4-1 at home.
SCOUTING OLD DOMINION
Heading into the weekend, the Monarchs are 5-6 overall and 2-1 in the BIG EAST. They have won four straight games, and will have faced Villanova on Friday before facing Temple on Sunday. ODU won back-to-back games by scores of 7-0, over both Georgetown and Quinnipiac. Sophomore Sarah Breen leads the Monarchs with eight goals, while junior Rosario Villagra is the points leader for the team with seven goals and eight assists for 22 points.
Temple and ODU have a history of meetings, but it has not been a good history for the Owls, as ODU leads the series 18-1-1. This will be the first meeting between the two since 2001.
