#16 Field Hockey Travels to Georgetown, Hosts Lafayette This Weekend

PHILADELPHIA - Just three regular season games remain for #16 Temple field hockey, and the Owls will play two of those this weekend. Temple (11-5, 2-1) heads to BIG EAST foe Georgetown (5-9, 0-3) for a 1:00 p.m. game on Friday, Oct. 24, and returns home to host Lafayette (5-9) at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26.
Live stats will be available for both games, as well as a subscription-based webcast for the Georgetown game. There will be an audio-only stream of Temple's home game on Sunday vs. Lafayette.
HEADLINES
• The Owls have won five of their last seven games and are coming off a 1-1 weekend...Temple rallied from being down 2-0 at #19 Old Dominion but ultimately lost 3-2 after tying the score...The Owls rebounded the next day with a 4-1 win at William & Mary.
• Temple is nationally ranked for a seventh week in a row, coming in at #16 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, released on Oct. 21...The Owls have been ranked as high as #13 this season.
• Senior Amber Youtz has scored 10 of Temple's last 17 goals over four games...With 21 goals in 2014 (1.31 per game), Youtz now leads all players in NCAA Division I.
• After recording back-to-back hat tricks in wins vs. Villanova and La Salle, Youtz was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for a second time on Oct. 13...She was also named Corvias ECAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week, Phila Field Hockey Attacker of the Week and Under Armour OwlSports.com Athlete of the Week.
• The NCAA released its fifth RPI of the season on Oct. 21, and Temple's RPI is now #13 in the nation.
• Senior goalkeeper Lizzy Millen currently ranks seventh in NCAA Division I with a saves percentage of .795 and leads the BIG EAST in saves percentage while ranking second in saves per game...Her 393 career saves rank seventh all-time at Temple.
• Four of the Owls' five losses are to teams ranked in the current Top 20 (#2 Maryland, #5 Penn State, #8 Duke and #19 Old Dominion), and the fifth was a 1-0 overtime loss to Drexel.
• With 21 goals so far in 2014, Youtz has now scored 63 goals as an Owl to rank fourth all-time...Her 148 career points also rank fourth all-time...She needs just five more goals to tie for third on the list.
• Georgetown and Lafayette both stand at 5-9 overall heading into the weekend...Lafayette will face Lehigh on Friday before heading to Temple on Sunday.Â
