NEW YORK
- On the first day of the American Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, junior Alex Izewski set a Temple school record in the 5000m run with his fifth-place time of 14:39.46. There is plenty of action left for day two of the championships, including the majority of finals in the running events.

Izewski's time earned the Owls four team points, and broke the previous record of 14:52.45 by almost 13 seconds. That record was set by teammate Matt Kacyon a year ago.

Another top highlight for the men's team was the performance of senior Will Kellar in the mile. He placed sixth in the prelims with a time of 4:14.57 to qualify for Saturday's "A" final in the event.

Freshman Adam Hasan ran a personal-best time of 22.32 in the 200m dash to place 14th in the prelims.

All of Saturday's results can be followed live HERE, and live video of the day is available HERE.
