Baseball Drops Conference Game to Cincinnati 11-5

The Bearcats scored 11 unanswered runs to claim the second game of the weekend series. Five runs were scored against starter Patrick Vanderslice in the second inning. Cincinnati scored the go-ahead runs in the third and added three in the seventh and one in the eighth.
Temple had jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning. It all started with two outs and no one on base. Derek Peterson singled to left field and advanced to second on a passed ball. Robert Amaro was then intentionally walked. Michael D'Acunti loaded up the bases when he was then hit by a pitch. Andrew Nist then drew a walk to allow Peterson to score. Frank D'Agostino was then hit by a pitch as well, and Amaro was able to jog home for a second run. Daniel Dragos hit a fly ball to right field that was dropped, and all three base runners scored on the play.
Peterson led the Owls at the plate, going three for four and one walk.
Ryan Kuehn will start for the Owls tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. as Temple looks to take the series against Cincinnati.
