Men's Basketball Continues Southwest Swing Sunday at Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. - Temple men's basketball will look to rebound from its first loss in over a month when the Owls take on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane at the Reynolds Center Sunday evening (6:00 pm ET/CBS Sports Network/1210 AM WPHT).
The Owls (19-8, 10-4 American) saw their seven-game win streak snapped Thursday at #21/21 SMU, 67-58. Â Senior guard Will Cummings led Temple with 14 points, seven assists and a career-high seven steals in the loss.
Cummings (13.7 ppg) leads Temple in assists (4.2 apg) while topping the conference in steals (2.0 spg). Senior Jesse Morgan and junior Quenton DeCosey also are averaging double figures, tying for second on the team in scoring with 12.5 averages.
Junior forward Jaylen Bond (8.2 ppg, 8.4 rpg) continues to top the conference in rebounding while also ranking fifth in steals per game (1.5 spg). Â Junior center Devontae Watson (2.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg) rounds out the starting five.
The SMU game featured the return of freshman Obi Enechionyia (5,0 ppg, 3.0 rpg) to the court. Â The Owl forward, who had missed the previous three games due to an ankle injury, scored eight points in 18 minutes of action.Â
Sophomore guard Josh Brown (6.4 ppg) provides instant offense off the bench for the Cherry and White while redshirt sophomore forward Daniel Dingle (4.2 ppg), sophomore forward Mark Williams (4.0 ppg) and junior Devin Coleman (3.5 ppg) all contribute in the team's 10-man rotation.
Tulsa (18-7, 11-2 American) defeated Temple, 63-56, at the Liacouras Center on Jan. 10, overcoming a double-figure second half deficit in the contest. Â That was the first of three Temple losses which coincided with Cummings suffering a left leg injury early in the second half of the loss to the Golden Hurricane. Â
Sitting one-half game behind conference leader SMU (12-2), Tulsa is led by junior guard James Woodard (14.5 ppg). Junior guard Shaquille Harrison averages 14.0 ppg along with a team-best 3.6 apg.
Tulsa is the only American Athletic Conference team that Temple has not defeated in its history. Â This will be the fourth meeting in the series.
