PHILADELPHIA - Temple field hockey led 2-1 with 20 minutes remaining, but the Owls (4-10) suffered a 4-2 loss to Penn (6-6) after the Quakers scored three goals in a seven-minute span down the stretch.

Keys to the Game
> Temple made the most of its offensive opportunities, scoring twice in three shots on goal and holding either a 1-0 lead or a 2-1 lead for nearly 40 minutes of action.
> Sophomores Lucy Reed and Maddie Merton found themselves in a 2 on 1 with the Penn goalkeeper in the 18th minute. Reed's initial shot was saved, but rebounded out to Merton who scored for a 1-0 lead.
> Temple junior goalkeeper Chloe Johnson made three first-half saves to keep Penn off the board, and the Owls' 1-0 lead stood through halftime.
> Penn tied the game 1-1 in the 46th minute on a penalty corner, but the Owls answered four minutes later.
> Temple made it 2-1 in the 50th minute when senior Maiyah Brown forced a turnover and got the ball to sophomore Cristen Barnett on a breakaway.
> The Owls' lead stood for more than 10 minutes before Penn picked up the pace in the final 10 minutes.
> Starting in the 62nd minute, Penn scored three goals in a row including an empty-net goal with just over a minute remaining.

> Penn's Alexa Hoover scored the Quakers' final goal, and assisted on two others.
> Johnson finished with five saves, and freshman Taylor Alba made a defensive save for the Owls.
> The goal for Barnett was the first of her career.
> A total of seven green and yellow cards were given out in an intense physical battle between the teams (five for Penn, two for Temple).
> Penalty corners were 10-2 in favor of Penn.
