Field Hockey Drops 3-1 Decision to Bucknell at Home

PHILADELPHIA - Bucknell (1-1) made the most of its huge advantage in penalty corners, handing Temple field hockey (0-2) a 3-1 loss at Howarth Field on Sunday afternoon. The Owls' only goal of the game also came on a corner, but it was one of just two they were awarded.Â
Keys to the Game
> Less than nine minutes remained in the first half before either team got on the scoreboard. Bucknell struck first in the 27th minute as Mackenzie Haney redirected a shot by Lexi Quick on a corner.
> Bucknell's 1-0 lead stood for the next 24 minutes of action, until Temple scored in the 51st minute.
> The Owls' goal came on one of two penalty corners they earned in the game. Redshirt senior Sarah Keer fired the shot that went off Bucknell goalkeeper Emily Finn and into the cage.
> Despite increased pressure, Temple was unable to get off another shot in the contest.
> Bucknell scored two more goals on corners in the 56th minute and 62nd minute for the final tally of 3-1.

> Bucknell had 11 penalty corner opportunities in the game compared to just two for Temple, and the all three of the Bison's goals were scored on those chances.
