Men's Cross Country Continues Post-Season Action at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals

PHILADELPHIA – After a record-breaking second place finish at the American Athletic Conference Championship meet two weeks ago, the Temple University men's cross country squad is primed and ready to compete at the 2018 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals. The Regional meet will be hosted by Penn State University on Friday, Nov. 9, as the Owls prepare to race the 10,000-meter Blue and White course in State College, Pa. at 1:00 p.m.
About the Mid-Atlantic Regional
> The meet will feature the men's cross country programs within the Mid-Atlantic region. Currently ranked in the top 15 in the region are #1 Princeton, #2 Georgetown, #3 Villanova, #4 Penn, #5 Penn State, #6 Temple, #7 La Salle, #8 Saint Joseph's, #9 Bucknell, #10 Navy, #11 Pittsburgh, #12 Lehigh, #13 Duquesne, #14 Monmouth and #15 George Washington.
> Penn State's Blue and White golf courses proudly sit among some of the top courses in the Big Ten Conference.
> Representing Temple on the men's side will be Kristian Jensen, Zach Seiger, Louis Corgliano, Kevin Lapsansky, Harry Powell, David Fitzgerald and Donovan Mears.

> "After putting five in the top 16 at the conference meet, the team should feel confident in their ability to perform against the teams in our region, especially on the longer 10,000-meter course," said head coach James Snyder. "The course at Penn State is a challenging one that suites our men really well, and their training this season has prepared them to execute over this distance."
Last Time Out
> The Owls are heading into the regional meet coming off of their first ever podium finish at the American Athletic Conference championships two weeks ago. The squad finished second overall behind a high caliber Tulsa team, battling tough weather conditions through a wet, muddy 8,000-meter course at the Golf Club at Audubon Park in New Orleans, La.
> Junior Zach Seiger finished in the number one spot for the Owls at the conference meet. Earning fifth overall, he put the Cherry and White in the top five at the AAC Championships for the first time in program history. Seiger ran the 8,000-meter course in 27:34.66, earning him a spot on the All-Conference squad for the first time in his career.
> Finishing right behind Seiger was sophomore Kristian Jensen. Jensen's sixth place finish was the second-highest ever for Temple at a conference meet, racing the course in 27:40.12. Jensen's efforts also landed him a spot on the All-Conference team for the first time in his career.
> Crossing third for the Owls and wrapping up the top 10 was senior Louis Corgliano. One of Temple's steadiest performers, Corgliano ran the 8,000-meter course in 27:56.40, earning him his first All-Conference accolades for his efforts on the day.
> Junior Kevin Lapsansky was not far behind his teammates, finishing 14th overall with a time of 28:16.70. Lapsansky was the fourth Temple runner to earn All-Conference honors, receiving the accolades for the second year in a row.
> Wrapping up the top five for the Cherry and White was junior Harry Powell. Overcoming early challenges in the race, Powell hustled his way to a top 20 finish with a time of 28:26.91.
