> The Tigers' second goal was on a direct corner but was their only corner goal out of 11 opportunities.
> Temple had its chances, earning eight penalty corners and taking nine shots on goal in the contest, but all were saved by goalkeeper Marlise van Tonder.
Temple Individual Highlights
> Senior goalkeeper Chloe Johnson made a career-high 12Â saves, while sophomore Dani Batze tallied one defensive save.
> Junior Kathryn Edgar took four total shots with one on goal, while junior Cristen Barnett registered two shots on goal.
Postgame Quotes - Head Coach Marybeth Freeman
> "We've played a great first half against UC Davis and a great second half vs Pacific, and now we need to put the pieces together. To play the way we did in the first half today and turn it around and play with such grit and discipline in the second half shows the talent and skill level we have to compete at a very high level."
> "We had some new players step up in new positions today and excel. That's very promising moving forward."Â
> "I think Chloe Johnson had a great game in goal. Freshman Claire Thomas made some key intercepts for us in transition and all three of our captains (Kathryn Edgar, Maris Stern and Nellie Doyle) were major impact players for us today on both sides of the ball."Â
> "We're leaving California with valuable lessons. This team is determined and connected and I believe we'll continue to see positive contributions and results in our upcoming competitions."
