PHILADELPHIA - After Temple's original BIG EAST opener at Liberty was postponed to Sept. 25, the Owls will now host Providence in their conference opener. Temple will play Providence on Friday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m., and Towson on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 12 p.m.

Promotions

Scouting Temple
> Temple is playing in just its second game since Sept. 9 after a Sept. 14 game at Liberty was postponed to Sept. 25 due to Hurricane Florence. The Owls have gone 1-5 so far, not including the result of their Sept. 21 game against Providence.
> The Owls' staff was completed on Sept. 18 with the official hiring of assistant coach Ross Gilham-Jones, a native of Great Britain. Gilham-Jones, who will primarily coach the team's attack, most recently spent almost a year coaching the WC Eagles club team out of Pottstown.
> Temple earned its first victory of the season at Lafayette on Sept. 7, winning 3-2. Redshirt senior Maris Stern scored on a penalty corner in the 63rd minute to break a 2-2 tie. In the Owls' other game that weekend, they lost 6-2 to Kent State after leading 2-0 at halftime.

The ODU game was the BIG EAST opener for Providence and the Friars lost 6-1 on the road.
> In their recent 8-0 defeat of LIU, five different players scored for the Friars. Providence's eight-goal victory marked the most goals in one game for the program since 2014.
> Providence went 11-8 last season and advanced to the BIG EAST Semifinals where the Friars fell 3-0 to #1 UConn.
> The Friars returned 11 letterwinners including five starters from last season. Providence's starters include All-BIG EAST Second Team honorees Corrine Kenney and U21 US National Team selection Mikayla Michals.
