PHILADELPHIA - Kathryn Edgar scored on a penalty stroke with time expired to lift Temple field hockey to a 2-1 win over visiting Towson (1-7) on Sunday at Howarth Field. The Owls (2-6) came from behind with two second-half goals to earn their first home win of the year in dramatic fashion.

Game Summary
> With 16:03 left in the first half, Towson's Katie McNeel collected her own rebound on a blocked penalty corner shot and slipped it past the left post for a 1-0 lead.
> The Owls took two shots on goal in the opening period, but both were saved by the Tigers' Mackenzie Peacock.
> Penalty corners abounded for both teams in the first half, with Towson earning seven while Temple tallied five.
> After trailing 1-0 at the break, the Owls got on the board in the 44th minute when sophomore Dani Batze scored on a corner with assists from sophomore Taylor Alba and freshman Nienke Oerlemans.
> Edgar was awarded a penalty stroke in the 63rd minute but her shot went left of the cage.
> The Owls then earned three corners in the final two minutes, and a foul by Towson on the third gave Edgar another chance at a stroke that she converted on for the win.

The disciplined play that we came out with in the second half really set us up for success. We kind of tweaked some things at halftime and I'm happy to say that we made the adjustments we needed."

> "It's not very often you get two strokes in a game, and it's not very often you send the same person to take both strokes. That's just a testament to Kat. She stepped up and was unfortunate to miss the first one, but the mental fortitude that she was able to display in stepping up and hammering that home for the win takes a lot of mental strength and that's the way Kat plays. She leads by example and I'm so happy she was able to get that back."
