Field Hockey Set to Close out Four-Game Road Stretch

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple field hockey team (5-6, 1-3 Big East) will close a four-game road stretch this weekend, traveling to No. 16 Old Dominion and Towson. The Owls are beginning to wrap up regular season play, with just four games left on the books after this weekend.

Scouting Temple
> Temple went 1-1 last weekend, defeating Georgetown and falling to Lafayette. Both games went into overtime, with the Leopards scoring just 21 seconds into the extra minutes. With the win over the Hoyas, the Owls snapped their 18-game Big East losing streak in regular season play.
> The team conceded just two goals last weekend, 19 total for the season. The defense has been solid for the Temple this year, allowing just 136 shots. 
> Junior Dani Batze and senior Becky Gerhart lead the NCAA in career saves, with both Owls recording 16. Batze is also tied for second in the NCAA for defensive saves for the season with five.

Scouting Old Dominion
> Old Dominion is 7-5 (3-1 Big East) and will host the Owls with a 3-1 home record.
> The Monarchs are on a one-match losing streak, falling 1-0 at No. 4 Duke last weekend.
> The team has scored 22 goals this season, allowing 23 from their opponents. Old Dominion is outshooting Temple by a thin margin, just 109-107.

> Temple and Old Dominion are meeting for the 27th time in series history, with the Monarchs holding a large 22-4-1 advantage.

Scouting Towson

> The Tigers took Georgetown to double overtime in their last game to earn a 3-2 victory. The Owls also took the Hoyas to extra minutes, coming away with a 2-1 win.
