PHILADELPHIA - Bouncing back from a 3-2 shootout loss yesterday, the Temple field hockey team topped Providence 1-0 Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Owls improve to 5-6 (2-6 BIG EAST) while the Friars fall to 1-5 (1-5 BIG EAST).

> Temple's defense was clutch, defending three penalty corners and Cristina Carotenuto defending penalty stroke in the second quarter.

Quotable
> "Today was a strong defensive effort for our team as a whole. We are impressed with our ladies' ability to take some hard feedback from yesterday and regroup for today's game. Spirits were high before the game despite a heartbreaking loss yesterday. I'm so proud of Cristina for bouncing back and holding down our defense. It's nice to split the series as we head to Liberty next weekend." – Temple head coach Susan Ciufo
