Kinzel Named Freshman of the Week, Oerlemans Named to Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Freshman Devin Kinzel has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week following a strong performance in Temple's conference opener last weekend, as announced by the league Tuesday. Nienke Oerlemans was also recognized for her performance, being tabbed to the Weekly Honor Roll for the first time this season.
Kinzel scored her first career goal in the 3-2 shootout victory over Quinnipiac to help secure Temple's first league win of the season. The Virginia Beach, Va. native fired one shot, putting it on frame.
Oerlemans recorded defensive saves in back-to-back games, and scored the eventual game-winner in the shootout against Quinnipiac to secure the victory. The Apeldoorn, Netherlands native fired three shots with two on target. She led a defense that successfully defended 11 of 13 penalty corners and held #9 Saint Joesph's to goals as one of just three teams to do so.
The Owls will return to the pitch this weekend, hosting BIG EAST rival Villanova and top-25 opponent Delaware.
