Field Hockey to Host Villanova, #23 Delaware

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple field hockey team will continue its three-game homestand this weekend, hosting Big 5 and conference rival Villanova as well as No. 23 Delaware.
Scouting Temple
>Â The Owls are off to their best start in program history since going 7-1-1 in 1991.
> The team earned its first conference win of the season at Quinnipiac last Friday afternoon, and this is the first time since 2014 that the Owls have won their league opener.
> The Cherry and White has only played three games at Howarth Field this season, topping Merrimack before falling to Bucknell and No. Saint Joseph's.
> The Temple offense has spread the love, with seven Owls scoring so far this season. Julianne Kopec leads the team with four while Kerrie Lorenz rounds out the multiple
goal scorers with two.
> Graduate transfer Megan Ragusa is a force in the cage, recording 27 of the team's 31Â saves and posting clean sheets against Merrimack, Hofstra, and Fairfield.
> Ragusa has allowed just eight goals for a 0.771 save percentage and ranks ninth in the nation with a 1.05 GAA.

> The Wildcats defeated Providence 5-3 at home to open league play, before topping La Salle 6-3 to sweep the weekend.
> The team has been outscored by its opponents 27-23, with Sabine de Ruijter and Meghan Mitchell leading the offense with 13 goals between the two.
> Three goalkeepers have seen time in the cage, with Jordan McGinley seeing the majority of the team's minutes.
